Be inspired by the Irish seasons
As a flower farmer I am passionate about growing flowers and foliage. Each flower for your special day has been lovingly cultivated, nourished and freshly gathered from our pollinator-friendly fields. The emphasis is on grown-not-flown. At present the Irish floral industry relies heavily on imported flowers which are typically chemically treated, flown in from long distances, and have a huge environmental impact. I am dedicated to promoting sustainable floral practices by using local flowers which are organically grown to the greatest extent possible. I utilise horse manure produced on my family’s farm in no-dig flower beds. This nourishes the flowers which in turn feed my sister’s bees which produce her honey. My flowers are completely seasonal, making the most of the abundance of blooms in the summer months and relying more on foliage and dried flowers when fresh flowers are scarce.
All my designs are foam free and I do not use any single use plastics. While it is very convenient, floral foam is a plastic-based product with chemicals known to cause biological and environmental damage. Instead, I rely on reusable and recyclable materials such as chicken wire as a base in my floral installations.
