Wildflower Mountains

In our latest styled shoot we  channel the muted tones and textures of West Cork’s southern headlands, capturing our model Emily Reynolds against the unspoilt landscape.

Bohemian styling with a touch of glamour makes for a nuanced aesthetic.

Bumblebee Flower Farm was responsible for the breath – taking Flower Crown, teamed with a magical 70’s Wedding gown.

Irena & Pete’s relaxed rural Wedding

This wedding is one of those love story’s that will make your heart melt!

Irena & Pete met through their sons, who were best friends since primary school. They became friends, but lived 230 miles apart – Irena in West Cork and Pete in Dublin, so they only met on occasional weekends when their sons were together. That’s probably why it took 2 years for romance to blossom and after a few years Dublin was abandoned and they settled together in West Cork and the house became a home from home for all of their kids. After 7 years they decide to go for weekend away to north-east Poland to find where Irena was born and raised until her family moved to Germany when she was 3 years old. It was her first time back, and Pete chose the perfect setting, by having a picnic on the bank of a slow moving river in a forest, with Swans and ducks swimming by the question was popped in German (thanks to google translate)

Pete & Irena are all about family and friends, as by law you cannot get married at home, they chose An Sanctoir for their relaxed and informal ceremony and celebrations. They wanted a non-religious ceremony in a rural spot and under their control with all their family and friends, good food, good music and an open bar and a fire!. For them An Sanctoir ticked all the boxes, it is peaceful, rural, with a light and airy building and room for a marquee where they could party all night (10am the next morning) without annoying any neighbours, and it was only 10minutes from home.

“I suppose the most memorable was first turning around to see my bride coming up the “aisle” (about 20 minutes late!) with her arm aloft showing her bouquet to the assembled guests with a massive smile and my heart skipping a beat.”

There was a bright elegant feel to this wedding, the table setting was natural and organic, and the flowers were hand picked from Irena’s garden with the addition of some extra flowers that she had bought from Central Floral Supplies in Cork City

“We made our own bar, and the kids printed out various images of our family friends to cover it up!”

“our delicious Black Forest Gateau was delicious , and it was Vegan!”

Advice from Irena&Pete

“Do what you want, not what people tell you to do and not what tradition dictates. Make it relaxed so not just you but all your guests can really enjoy themselves”
